Since December 2017, Philippe Boucly is President of FRANCE HYDROGENE (formerly AFHYPAC), the association which is bringing together all the hydrogen players in France. He has been First Vice President of this Association from 2013 to 2017
He is Member of the National Council for Hydrogen (Conseil National de l’Hydrogène)
From January 2009 until April 2013, he was CEO of GRTgaz, the main Transmission System Operator for natural gas in France. During his mandate the company developed interest for renewable gases and particularly hydrogen.
Philippe Boucly spend his whole carrier within Gaz de France, which became GDF Suez then ENGIE. He exercised operational functions in France (Head of the West Midland region) and abroad.
From 2002 to 2008, he was successively member and Chairman of the Board of SPP, the Slovak gas company jointly controlled by GDF SUEZ and E.ON and in charge of importing, storing, distributing and selling natural gas on the territory of the Slovak Republic .
From 1994 to 2002, he was in charge of the cooperation with Gazprom and the development of projects (energy savings, underground storages, renovation of gas networks) in Eastern Europe and in the C.I.S. (Community of Independent States). At that time he was Chairman of the Board of Fragaz and Ecogaz, two joint ventures between Gaz de France and Gazprom
Philippe Boucly started his career in 1977 joining the Research Division of Gaz de France where he carried out studies about the behavior of underground salt cavities used for the storage of natural gas.
Philippe Boucly graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique in 1972 and from the National School of Mines of Paris in 1974. He is a Member of the French Association of Energy Economists.
