Emanuel Wagner has been CHBC’s Deputy Director since 2018. In his role, he manages the day-to-day operations of the Council, oversees its advocacy activities, plans and executes up to half a dozen events per year; coordinates program planning and budget development with the board, management, and members; oversees membership development; manages board communications; governs committee and stakeholder relations. From 2012 to 2018, Emanuel served as the Assistant Director of the California Hydrogen Business Council.

Technology Transition Corporation is CHBC’s management service provider, and Emanuel has represented several of TTC’s clients on a variety of program areas, such as membership communication and development, education & outreach, and research & analysis. He is Vice President of the Hydrogen Education Foundation (HEF), managing the Hydrogen Student Design Contest since 2011 and seeing the DOE H-Prize to its completion. He has also worked for the Biomass Thermal Energy Council (BTEC) from 2009 – 2017. Emanuel joined TTC in March 2009.

Emanuel is a native of Berlin, Germany and holds a Bachelor’s degree (Zwischenprüfung) from University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany in Political Sciences with Economics (2004) and a Master’s (Diplom) from the University of Potsdam, Germany in Political Science (2008).
