2023 Awards Judging Panel

Roland Muwanga has had a variety of roles within engineering design, research and development, and operations over his 20 year career.  He has spent the last few years at TC Energy in various leadership roles, overseeing pipeline infrastructure development and operations.  In his current role as VP Energy Transition Technologies, he evaluates technology developments across the energy industry to assess their applicability to TC Energy's strategic growth and emissions reductions pathways. This includes assessing the hydrogen value chain from production through transportation and storage.

Roland completed his undergraduate in mechanical engineering at the University of Calgary and his PhD at Concordia University in Montreal.  He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Alberta, Canada.  Away from work, Roland enjoys spending time with his growing family playing sports, music, and travelling abroad.
