Rachel Smith serves as the Vice President and General Manager of Air Products Canada Ltd. Rachel is responsible for the Air Products hydrogen and industrial gas business across Canada, including the existing operations, supply relationships and growth strategy.

Rachel has more than 15 years of experience in Canada’s energy sector with roles that span engineering, operations and commercial. Since joining Air Products in 2013, Rachel has driven significant growth in the hydrogen business across both California and Canada. This includes the recently announced Net-Zero Hydrogen Energy Complex in Edmonton, Alberta that is aligned with Air Products’ growth and sustainability strategy of executing transformative world-scale projects that help enable a cleaner energy future. With over sixty years of global hydrogen experience, Air Products has the proven capability to safely produce, distribute, and dispense this increasingly important fuel into Canadian markets. Rachel is keen to utilize this experience to help the hydrogen economy develop in a safe, reliable, and sustainable manner across Canada.

Rachel holds Bachelor of Biochemical Engineering Science and Master of Engineering Science degrees, both from the University of Western Ontario. She also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Alberta, specializing in Natural Resources, Energy, and the Environment. Rachel and her husband reside in Edmonton, Alberta.
