Roy has over twenty years of applied experience improving project, operational, and transaction performance. This includes analysis of life cycle value, efficiency, and novel technologies to leverage capital effectiveness and sustainability. Roy has previous diverse experience with owners, regulators, and financiers with field experience in oil and gas, refining & chemicals, mining, and infrastructure across North America, Middle East, and South America. Roy has a degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in water and waste engineering. His early focused on water resources and climate adaptation including turnkey water and wastewater treatment, stormwater management, and providing humanitarian relief through water and sanitation in developing countries. For the next 18 years, he provided specialist input to capital projects, adapting assets, and corporate strategies within a leading global engineering firm. He was a founding principal in the establishment of that firm’s advisory practice. He now provides expert guidance to Partners in Performance clients through it’s growing global Energy Transformation Practice. His recent experience includes: • Hydrogen sector development strategy for establishing the Houston region as a manufacturing hub for hydrogen electrolyzers including extensive stakeholder consultation including technology developers, integrators, component manufacturers, and investors • Techno-economic evaluation of low emissions technologies in hydrogen generation, carbon capture, renewable fuels, and electrification applied to hydrocarbons and chemicals • Developing decarbonisation and net-zero strategies for mining, processing, and smelting/refining facilities along base metals value chains • Advising regulators and owners in design and implementation of policies responsive to external sustainability frameworks, stakeholder, and investor interests • Strategic advisory for start-up implementing a circular economy solution for recovery of critical metals from consumer/industrial waste streams • Transaction advisory and due diligence of large assets portfolios within energy and mining sector
