Dan Brock is the Chair of the Fasken Government Relations & Strategy practice, and co-lead of the firm’s recently launched Hydrogen Energy Advisory Team.

One of Canada’s top government relations practitioners, Dan provides clients with critical insights into government policy development and political decision-making.

Specializing in advisory services, policy analysis, strategic planning, political intelligence gathering, coalition-building and government advocacy, Dan is a leading and respected figure in Canadian government relations. He has held several senior advisory positions with federal Ministers of Environment, Justice, Finance, and has worked as Principal Secretary to the Leader of the Official Opposition.

Hydrogen

At Fasken, Dan is playing a leadership role in understanding and advising clients on the forces moving Canada inexorably toward a full, clean-energy transition, in particular in the area of clean hydrogen.

With the firm’s recently launched Hydrogen Energy Advisory Team, Dan is leading a first of its kind comprehensive expertise and service offering to advise companies participating in and profiting from the transition to clean hydrogen to displace carbon-intensive energy.

Daniel is also the founder and Chair of H2GO Canada, a not-for-profit corporation expressly focused on accelerating the development of hydrogen markets in Canada.

With his deep understanding of the decision-making processes of governments, Dan works to develop and execute strategies that effectively manage risks to client interests, or helps exploit client opportunities associated in the decisions of governments.
