Kimberly Irwin is the Director, Hydrogen Projects, in the BC Clean Energy and Major Projects Office (CEMPO), a branch within the Ministry of Energy and Low Carbon Solutions. In her role, Kimberly is responsible for providing dedicated support to proposed hydrogen projects in British Columbia to support the Province’s clean growth priorities. Prior to joining CEMPO in January 2024, Kimberly worked for five years at Natural Resources Canada, in the Major Projects Management Office, and more recently, Nòkwewashk. While at NRCan, she worked to advance a range of policy files and other initiatives, including federal regulatory efficiency and improved cross-jurisdictional coordination for priority clean growth projects; development of a federal Indigenous loan guarantee program to advance Indigenous equity ownership in natural resource projects; and implementation of the Trans Mountain Pipeline Expansion Project. Prior to her time at NRCan, Kim worked for five years at the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (formerly the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency) carrying out federal environmental assessment processes for LNG, mining, and export terminal projects in BC. She has a masters degree in natural resource management from SFU’s School of Resource and Environmental Management
