GLOBAL EVENT ORGANIZER DMG EVENTS LAUNCHES THE CANADIAN HYDROGEN CONVENTION IN EDMONTON

The convention will emphasize Canada’s critical role in the development of the global hydrogen economy and will aim to target investment into the industry.

CALGARY, ALTA: dmg events announces the launch of a new event showcasing hydrogen as a key enabler to reach net-zero emissions by 2050, the Canadian Hydrogen Convention. The inaugural event is set to be hosted April 26-28, 2022 at the Edmonton Convention Centre in Edmonton, Alberta.

Following the release of Canada’s Hydrogen Strategy in 2020, the Canadian Hydrogen Convention will explore the opportunities and challenges in the hydrogen sector, and connect global buyers and sellers of hydrogen and its associated technologies.

The Convention is being Co-Hosted by Edmonton Global, the key economic development agency for the region. “The Edmonton region is the launch point for the emerging North American hydrogen economy and is Canada's first and largest hydrogen hub. The region is attracting international attention and investment and we're excited to be hosting the Canadian Hydrogen Convention here and welcome the world,” said Malcolm Bruce, CEO, Edmonton Global. “The convention will provide an excellent opportunity to share information and ideas, build collaborative opportunities and showcase the exciting energy transition that is taking place in Canada”

The Government of Alberta, alongside partners Emissions Reduction Alberta, Alberta Innovates and Invest Alberta will be Key Stakeholders for the Convention. The event will feature an exhibition with more than 100 exhibitions and 4,000 domestic and international attendees and a leading conference with over 50 speakers and 300 delegates. “The Canadian Hydrogen Convention will position Canada as a global hydrogen superpower,” said Nick Samain, Vice President, dmg events, who also organizes the Global Energy Show in Calgary. “We want to play our part in connecting Executives, Governments and Indigenous leaders from across the country with the global investment sector.”
