Amir Reza Hanifi

Dr. Hanifi is a Senior Science and Technology Advisor at the Office of Energy Research and Development (OERD) at Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), where he is actively involved in implementing government initiatives to support hydrogen-related technologies. His work includes a wide range of projects, including hydrogen generation through methane pyrolysis, hydrogen transportation through pipelines, underground hydrogen storage, and fuel cells.

Before joining NRCan, Dr. Hanifi served as a technology advisor for the Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) program for eight years in which he made eligibility determinations on many energy related projects.

In addition to his advisory role at NRCan, Dr. Hanifi holds an adjunct professor position at the University of Alberta where he supervises several PhD students and postdocs who conduct research on solid oxide fuel cells and electrolyzers.
