Captain Shurdha joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 2006 as an Armour Officer. He completed officer training at the Royal Canadian Armour Corps School in 2010 and was posted to the Royal Canadian Dragoons in Petawawa, Ontario where he served as a Troop Leader and Liaison Officer. Between 2012 to 2015 he was posted to the Royal Military College of Canada where he was employed as the Staff Officer Careers and supported over 900 officer cadets.
In 2015 he moved to the Canadian Army Doctrine and Training Centre Headquarters where he managed the Canadian Army Training Ammunition portfolio. He completed the Army Technical Staff Officer Course in 2019 and was posted to Director Land Requirements (DLR) as Deputy Project Director for the Logistics Vehicle Modernization project in 2020.
In 2021, Captain Shurdha began researching zero-emission technologies to support the Government of Canada’s targets to reach net-zero emissions by 2050. He is currently working at DLR-3 Armoured Systems as a Project Director and is a contributor to the Canadian Army’s Operational Land Fleet Decarbonization Plan (OLFDP). Captain Shurdha holds a BSc in Chemistry from York University in Toronto.
Capt Shurdha is married with two children. He currently lives in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
