Pierre Poulain is the President and CEO of Powertech Labs Inc., a leading international testing and engineering company and commercial subsidiary of BC Hydro based in the Greater Vancouver area of British Columbia, Canada.  With over two decades of service as a Marine and Combat Systems Engineer and Naval Officer in the Royal Canadian Navy, Pierre brings a wealth of technical and leadership expertise to the clean energy sector. He has held senior positions at Vard Electro AS, Ultra Maritime, Fleetway (Irving), and MAN Energy Solutions, spanning the technology, energy, and transportation industries.

Pierre is recognized for his deep understanding of the knowledge-based economy, with a particular focus on electrification and decarbonization. He is actively involved in industry events and is committed to advancing hydrogen technologies and performance testing for electric utilities and industrial clients. Pierre holds an MBA from Saint Mary’s University, a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Dalhousie University, and a Marine Engineering Diploma from l’Institut Maritime du Quebec. Fluent in both French and English, Pierre is also an engaged member of the local and professional community.
