Jacob is a systems thinker with over 10 years of combined research and project consulting experience in oil & gas sector, cleantech, and sustainability field. Jacob is passionate about advancing sustainability through technological innovation, strategic sustainable investing, and multi-stakeholder engagement. As the Principal & Founder of InnoTech Pioneers Inc., Jacob works with organizations across the sustainability spectrum, such as think tanks and cleantech start-ups, to help them navigate challenges and identify opportunities to bring their innovative products and solutions to market, while advocating for better industry practices and government policies and regulations. In recent years, Jacob has been involved in techno-economic research, project consulting, and energy transition studies related to hydrogen, energy storage, sustainable finance, and ESG strategy and investment. Jacob is also a current Energy Futures Lab Fellow to support Alberta’s and Canada’s low-carbon economy. Before transitioning his career, Jacob spent half a decade in the pipeline industry, focusing on industrial coating RDT&D and asset integrity.
