Who selects the technical presentations?

All technical presentations are reviewed and selected by the Canadian Hydrogen Convention Technical Committee.

When is the submission deadline?

All abstracts must be submitted electronically through the online submission form by October 31, 2025. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Who can submit an abstract?

Anyone who is currently working in the energy industry in Canada or globally.

What criteria are used to evaluate proposals?

The Technical Committee evaluates proposals based on:

  • Contribution to technology or relevance to the hydrogen industry
  • Presence of significant new knowledge or experience
  • Absence of undue commercialism and trade names

What information must be included in my abstract?

Abstracts must:

  • Be written in English
  • Be a maximum of 450 words
  • Include:
    • Objectives/Scope
    • Methods/Procedures/Process
    • Results/Observations/Conclusions
    • Novel/Additive Information

Are commercial names or promotional language allowed?

No. Titles, abstracts, and presentations must avoid commercial trade names, company names, or promotional content. Proposals deemed too commercial may be withdrawn.

What is a poster session?

The poster session is where accepted abstracts can be displayed on a single visual poster format. Posters will be displayed on the exhibition floor throughout the two days of the event. A fee will be required to be paid which includes a two-day technical conference pass and cover the cost of printing and assembly of the poster. A great option for individuals involved in post-secondary institutions.

Do I need management clearance before submitting?

Yes. All necessary approvals (e.g., travel, visa, budget) must be obtained prior to submission. Any potential issues should be disclosed in the proposal.

When will I know if my abstract is accepted?

Notifications will be sent by email to the primary contact by December 12, 2025.

What happens if my abstract is accepted?

  • Accepted speakers must register for a two-day technical conference pass in order to present by January 23, 2026. Special rates for presenters will be available at the time of confirmation of acceptance.
  • Accepted speakers will need to submit a PowerPoint presentation by April 3, 2026.

What does the Technical Conference pass include?

The two-day technical conference pass provides access to:

  • Exhibition floor
  • All technical sessions
  • Access to the poster session
  • Opening night reception
  • Lunches and refreshment breaks

Will my materials be published?

Yes. Presenters must provide a public version of their presentation (PowerPoint or technical paper) for inclusion in the online conference library where all technical conference delegates will have access to after the conference.

Does the event cover speaker expenses?

No. dmg events does not cover travel, accommodation, food, visa fees, or registration. All costs are the responsibility of the presenter.
